Welcome!
The board members of TAD would like to take this opportunity to thank O2 and Think Big for their continued support.
Welcome to the Teenagers Against Discrimination website. Here, you can find all the latest news from TAD as well as blogs written by the members of TAD. Please help us by telling us what you think of our new site. To do this, go to here. We are a group which aims to change the typical stereotype of the teenager. We plan to do this by proving by doing by holding concerts and attending local events. To get involved, contact us via the contact page.

We need your help!
We, at T.A.D, have undertaken our most ambitious task yet…. A survey!
Doesn’t sound too ambitious does it? But that is because what you don’t realise is we intend on surveying 5% of Clacton’s population…. 2000 people!
Our survey can be completed by anyone that is 18+ and living in Clacton on Sea, so if you qualify please help us out!
Through our survey we hope to discover Adult Attitudes towards:
-
Youth Crime
-
Youth Pregnancies
-
Youth Drug Use
-
Teenage Appearances
-
What Influences Your Opinions
Then using this information, we hope to be able to decide where (if at all!) a problem exists in attitudes towards young people, and we can go on to fix it!
This ambition of ours will be going on for the next 6-8 months. If you would like to participate, please follow this link:
Do you want to come and do a survey in person instead? When you are out and about, you can find copies of our surveys at the following locations:
Clacton Library, Holland Library, Coppins Hall Community Centre, Bishops Park Library, Green Lodge Youth Centre, Clacton Adult Learning Centre, Clacton Coastal Academy Community Centre
Also look out for us at Tesco Supermarket on the 21st August!
Hope you find the time to help us!
Litter Ad... Coming to a phone box near you?
Seen this ad? We certainly have!

This advertisement is part of a Government Campaign to reduce the amount of litter that is being dropped by people. But by looking at the picture above, who do you think it's aimed at? Not only does this poster aim towards teenagers, it also fits the stereotype... Hoodie, Yob...Pig?
Just what we need, another social stigma to add to our collection!
Now, we know that our generation is not the best when it comes to litter, but think about it. This world is not just full of teenagers, there are people of all ages, and trust me... we are not the only ones. Whenever I eat inside a fast food restaurant, I throw away everything when I am done and place the tray on the pile, its common courtesy to be it? But the amount of people I have seen that just leave everything spread out on the table, teenagers or not, is unbelievable! It may not be littering on the floor, but its rubbish and its being left. It's a close second.
Now take the amount of litter we see on the sides of the motorways, plastic bags in trees and crisp packets on the sides. But how much of that can be possibly be blamed on teens, motorways are used by thousands of car drivers. Clearly litter is a problem in the UK, but pointing the finger at teens is not a way to solve it! There have been many groups of children and teens that have collected litter for their towns, now why bring them back down?
Why is it that there are no posters saying how we can all work together to reduce the amount of litter, instead of knocking down the reputation of youth just that little bit more.
